Expert: Number of DDoS attacks on Russian universities leap 700%

MOSCOW, Jun 27 (PRIME) -- The number of DDoS attacks against the Russian universities rocketed by 700% on the year on June 10–23 with 70% of them originating from Europe, cybersecurity company StormWall said on Monday in a statement.

“Since June 10, 2022 until now, StormWall specialists have been resisting a gigantic avalanche of DDoS attacks targeting the Russian universities,” the company said.

The capacity of attacks reached 300,000 requests per second.

Some universities that did not use professional protection faced serious consequences, including the failure of websites.
